What is ComicInfo.xml?
A small XML file stored inside a comic archive that holds metadata: series, issue number, volume, publication date, publisher, writer, artist, genre and summary. It is the de facto metadata standard for CBZ and CBR files.
Which applications read it?
Most serious comic software — ComicRack, Kavita, Komga, YACReader, Ubooquity and Tachiyomi among them. Populating it is what turns a folder of archives into a properly organised, searchable library.
Will editing metadata touch my pages?
No. Only the ComicInfo.xml entry is added or replaced; every page image is left exactly as it was.
What if the file already has metadata?
Existing ComicInfo.xml data is read in and shown in the form, so you can correct individual fields rather than retyping everything.
Does this work on CBR files too?
Writing metadata requires rebuilding the archive, which is only possible for ZIP-based files. Convert a CBR to CBZ first, then edit its metadata.
