Why convert a comic to EPUB rather than PDF?
EPUB reflows to the screen and is the format most e-readers and library apps accept natively, so pages scale to your device instead of forcing you to zoom around a fixed-size page. For image-based comics on an e-ink reader, EPUB is usually the more comfortable result.
What is actually inside the EPUB?
A standards-compliant EPUB container: each comic page becomes one XHTML document holding a single full-page image, plus a navigation document and manifest so readers can page through in the right order.
Will it work on a Kindle?
Modern Kindles accept EPUB through Send to Kindle, which converts it on Amazon's side. Results vary with image size — very large pages are sometimes downscaled during that step. Sending a CBZ directly to a Kindle app that supports it often looks better.
Are the images recompressed?
No. The extracted page images are placed into the EPUB container unchanged, so the pages inside are identical to those in the source CBR.
Does it support right-to-left reading for manga?
The generated EPUB uses standard left-to-right page progression. For manga you can flip the reading direction in most readers, or use a CBZ with a reader that has a dedicated manga mode.
